Building the Most Resilient Transportation Network

We started Leaf in 2017 to fundamentally rethink the way that transportation is bought, sold, and coordinated. Many of us at Leaf have spent decades in the transportation industry and have seen firsthand the limitations in the way the siloed transportation market is run, leaving few opportunities for network coordination. That’s why we built Leaf, to offer a new way for shippers, carriers, brokers, and other transportation partners to tap into an industry-wide network to build their most reliable transportation plan, and eliminate waste in the industry.

Today marks a milestone for Leaf and our customers as we’re proud to announce continued investment in our platform and the Leaf network with a growth round of funding led by Sozo Ventures, with participation from Madrona Venture Group, as well as our existing partners Playground Global, Floodgate, Schematic Ventures, and Supply Chain Ventures. We’ve had the privilege to partner with some of the industry’s most forward-thinking shippers and providers, and today marks a milestone in what we’ve built together. Year over year, we’ve seen 10X revenue growth in the Leaf network as more shippers, carriers, and brokers have partnered with us to unlock network efficiency and gain a forward view of the transportation market. We’ve dramatically reduced the number of empty miles that carriers drive empty and have removed excess CO2 emissions along the way. You can read more about our sustainability efforts here.

The Leaf network is built with data from more than 400 shippers, giving an industry-wide view of the transportation market, and in the years ahead, we’ll continue to expand the network and build the tools to unlock more value from this network for all participants. Using our Adapt technology, shippers gain a unique forward-looking view so they can better anticipate their transportation needs and have a more resilient plan in place to withstand supply chain disruptions. Shippers who’ve worked with us have been able to navigate the uncertainty of the supply chain in recent years, keeping their transportation costs in control while still delivering great service to their customers. This is just one example of how participants are able to unlock value when we coordinate across the industry.

While we’re proud of the momentum we’ve had, we’re more excited to get to work on building the future. If you’re interested in learning more about what this means for potential customers, partners and team members, please get in touch.
